About the Event
‘Songs, tunes and traditional ballads’.
The subtitle to Stuart’s CD ‘Borscht’. His guitar style is influenced by John Renbourn and Pierre Bensusan and he credits his songs to Andy Irvin, Ralph McTell and Martin Carthy, among others. After a two-month tour of the New Zealand folk circuit, he swapped his guitar 20 years ago for family life and running an Organic smallholding in north east Cumbria. He’s back now so be sure to catch this rare performance, at the start of his comeback tour!
“So, what about the music?…his guitar work is excellent throughout. He is aided by fine, varied, but sympathetic accompaniment, and his singing voice sits well with the material”. Mel Howley: The Listening post
