About the Event
“Great Artists - Small Venue” started streaming weekly gigs from Upstairs@TheGatherduring lockdown. It was well worth the money and the investment in training.
We gave a lifeline to artists whose employment otherwise dried up and we made no charge to view but offered a tip jar so that artists could get some income. Also the experience provided a sense of normality as people were constrained to stay at home.
During that time our music attracted a worldwide audience and when in July 2021 a semblance of normality returned it seemed sensible to continue to film and stream live performances.
